In Oct/Nov they renovated and redecorated our house (Brockley SE4) which involved knocking 3 openings between rooms, installing decking and new under stairs storage, new radiators, new lighting and sockets, replastering, opening 2 fireplaces, installing coving & ceiling roses and repainting.

I prepared a detailed scope of work per room and Simon priced each item so we were clear from the start what the costs would be and how the payment schedule worked. The work came in on time and on budget, with minimal hassle and stress, and Simon kept me informed of progress as we went along. They always cleared up at the end of the day and were a pleasure to have in the house (particularly when supplied with tea and biscuits…). They have come back promptly to sort out a few snags that have cropped up and have been helpful in recommending other tradesmen that we’ve needed.

One of the biggest draws for us was that as a small business they do all the work themselves and do one job at a time, so you have their full time and focus for the period of work. The downside is that they do get booked up several months in advance, but that’s the sign of good builders and they are well worth the wait.

I have no hesitation in recommending Dulwich Construction – we’re really glad they did the work for us as the end result is fantastic.

We have recently had the whole back of our house remodelled. This work included a side-return extension, new kitchen, a garden which was lowered and redesigned, a reconfigured back-bedroom with roof-terrace and the addition of an under stairs WC. We were lucky enough to work with a team of fantastic builders lead by Simon Maddocks at Dulwich Construction.

The team of three were solely dedicated to our project for the duration of the build which was a huge advantage. They worked brilliantly as a team and were great at explaining things when minor problems arose. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship is fantastic. We are delighted with the end result and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dulwich Construction.

We were very happy with the work carried out by Dulwich Construction. It was a pleasure to work with them and we found them extremely helpful and willing to provide useful advice as the job progressed.

They took care to protect the surrounding garden as they worked and on completion left the site in a clean and tidy condition. The quality of workmanship was very high and we would not hesitate to recommend them to others who are considering an Endless Pool installation or indeed any other building work.

We were very pleased by the work carried out by Dulwich Construction. The team had to work through the worst of the winter, dealing with sticky clay and having to drain out the hole that had been dug on an almost daily basis.

A 22′ x 14′ cabin was constructed and a 16′ x 9′ Endless Pool with a custom deep area installed partly in-ground. The work was carried out to a high professional standard and it was great that all aspects of the build and installation could be handled by the team. Simon has been very responsive regarding any subsequent questions on care or use of the pool.

We found him/them constantly punctual, pleasant, helpful, patient and good humoured throughout all the vicissitudes of pool creation. In our case this involved some 11 skip loads of earth/clay dug in large part by hand (and part by a small mechanical digger) and carried in wheelbarrows through the house.

We had a large cabin (28ft by 16ft) constructed at the bottom of the garden to accommodate not only the pool but also a fitness suite. Between them they covered all the angles as to design, construction, materials, paintwork, consequential garden landscaping and helped with planning permission issues.

They also cleared up each day and managed to keep the house as clean and clear as could be expected throughout the works. They consulted us at each step and discussed budget changes with us. They gave it their personal attention and Simon was there every day of the project over two months. He supplied diagrams and elevations on screen.

I would like to second this recommendation for Dulwich Construction. We also chose them based on the ED forum, and they did an absolutely fantastic job on our kitchen.

I just wanted to write a recommendation for the building company, Dulwich Construction, whom I recently commissioned to make a major reconstruction of my kitchen. My house, a Victorian terrace, had a small kitchen with an entrance door into a rather pokey utility and toilet, with rising damp. Dulwich Construction removed the wall separating the two rooms, installed French doors, closed the original doorway to the outside and replaced it with a larger window, opened up the ceiling and fitted a very large Velux skylight, damp-proofed the walls, plastered everything, tiled the floor and installed a new kitchen. I requested quotes from four companies and chose Dulwich Construction because Simon and Paul were the most proactive in making suggestions to best realise my ideas for the new kitchen. Their price was also very competitive.

The original project included replacing the solid concrete flooring in the kitchen, investigation as the work progressed revealed that the floor was actually sound, subsequently Simon and Paul very reasonably reduced the price of the project to reflect changed workload. Additionally, during the project, we discovered my upstairs shower was leaking badly through the walls. Even though this problem was unrelated to the kitchen, Paul advised and helped me to renew the shower and Simon drove me to the bathroom merchant to buy the materials and got me a trade discount!

Overall they were very helpful and worked hard to achieve a brilliant standard of finish. Paul, Simon and Andy were prompt, professional and very personable, making what could have been a very difficult experience (my partner and I lived on site during the disruption) actually stress-free and fun.

I recommend them very highly.

Simon and Paul recently did some structural work on our kitchen and we were really pleased with them. They provided a professional, competitive quote (with proper breakdown for entire project). They turned up on time, were tidy, and in general very helpful and good to work with. They can recommend a structural engineer too and deal with decoration, flooring, etc.

I would just like to post a recommendation for Dulwich Construction who have been working in our house for the past three weeks. Simon and Paul have been polite, courteous, punctual and extremely professional whilst completing a lot of work on the house. Mr P and I come from architect/design backgrounds so have sometimes annoyingly high expectations of finishes etc. but Dulwich Construction ensured everything was completed to the highest possible standard achievable.

They were always happy to discuss a variety of options to ensure we got the end result we wanted and they gave the impression nothing was too much trouble. Having had a bad experience using another local building firm last year it was really nice to be dealt with in such a professional but friendly manner. The price was very competitive too.
